An elderly couple's routine drive in Miami turned into a nightmare when a drunk driver, speeding in a Lamborghini, crashed into their car, leaving them with broken bones and severe bruises. The Ward Law Group has swiftly taken on the legal representation of the victims, emphasizing their commitment to pursuing justice in cases involving irresponsible and dangerous decisions on the road.
The crash occurred at Northwest 37th Avenue and 36th Street intersection last Thursday night. Gabriel Pina, 35 years old, was behind the wheel of the Lamborghini, reportedly speeding when he collided with two other cars. Jesus Villaroel, 78, was driving one of the cars, accompanied by his wife on their way to work. “It was God that saved me and my wife from this catastrophic accident,” expressed Jesus Villaroel through a translator, highlighting the severity of the incident.
Attorney Greg Ward emphasized the gravity of the case, stating, “This case is obviously a very serious case. We always remember that driving while intoxicated is completely unacceptable; driving while intoxicated can ruin people’s lives.” The legal team representing the elderly couple, including attorneys Greg Ward and Jany Martinez-Ward, has initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash.
They aim to uncover crucial details about the driver's actions and potential effects of alcohol. “We are lucky to be alive after this tragedy,” remarked attorney Jany Martinez-Ward, emphasizing the fortunate survival of their clients despite the severity of the crash. The Ward Law Group has a history of advocating for victims of catastrophic accidents and holding those responsible accountable.
In this case, the legal team is focused on seeking compensation for the damages and is determined to explore any potential liability of establishments serving alcohol irresponsibly. “It’s possible he was coming from an establishment that served alcohol. If that’s the case, that establishment may be responsible for these damages as well by irresponsibly serving alcohol to someone who was already intoxicated,” explained Greg Ward of the Ward Law Group.
The legal proceedings have already revealed alarming details about the extent of the driver's intoxication, with Gabriel Pina's blood-alcohol level registering more than twice the legal limit at .194. Despite Pina's attempts to deny being the driver, surveillance footage from The Booby Trap strip club contradicts his statement, showing him getting behind the wheel of the Lamborghini. Pina is now facing multiple charges, including DUI with serious bodily injury.
The Ward Law Group's proactive approach to taking on the case ensures that the pursuit of justice is initiated from the moment they establish contact with the victim. The case of Mr. Villarroel, who curiously bears the name of the teacher of all Christians, is a new opportunity to demonstrate that justice does exist in the South Florida community. The Ward Law Group will use all of its years of experience to provide some measure of compensation for the damages caused and any long-term effects that may remain for the victim.
