Bringing children to the office is undoubtedly better than getting the office to home or taking work home when children expect us to give them enough attention each day.
At The Ward Law Group, we recently made this possible. We invited our little ones to join us for an entire day of work. The idea revolved around introducing the legal experts of the future! And that they can experience the professional environment in which their parents are involved.
National Bring Your Daughters & Sons to Work Day National consisted of a schedule of activities we could do with the children. We start by introducing the children to the human resources area.
Which brought many smiles to our faces and reinforced the children's sense of belonging to our work team.
Then, we continued with a group photo that immortalized the moment. We continued with activities such as teaching children to create their professional summaries by interpreting the profile of a future lawyer.
We continued with simulated interview dynamics, where we could ask questions that ended in very fun conversations with the little guests. We then continued with lunch from Chick-fil-A, provided for the kids. We also played Bingo and enjoyed ourselves together, trying to fill in all the missing numbers to get the big prize!
We were also able to address the issue of dress codes in our office and the field for the little giant lawyers of tomorrow, who already have notions of how to tie a tie. A coloring tournament, Tabletop games, and drawings that we all share. A moment to listen and be heard.
The guests were the stars. We appealed to the search for innocence that children promote, that special connection with the essence of things, and the ability to live fully in the present moment.
An empathy for the world around them. An innocent look at the phenomena that happen there. Children remind us of that part of us of infinite creativity, which we sometimes repress due to the molds that demand that we belong.
The idea was to share an authentic moment, and we ended up taking away more than one lesson and a smile that remains engraved in another day of being a team.
We are sure that all the good things from children will always be welcome in our environment. At The Ward Law Group, we value family integration at all levels and always try to develop empathy for the most important people in our lives. Sharing with luxury guests like our little ones will always be a way to refresh our minds.
