The history of the United States of America as we know it today is a story of people arriving in boats on some of its shores, from the post-war waves of immigrants to the humanitarian crisis at the border. Times have changed, but the desire to survive and overcome difficulties still exists. Many lives are lost along the way, but others, through resilience, find a new opportunity to rebuild.
In a world that needs lights of knowledge to guide hundreds of displaced people, Ms. Martinez Ward fulfills her work. After going through this journey at only 14 years of age, going through uncertainty, temporary confinement for her family, forced adaptation to a new culture, and with many days of not knowing what was going to happen the next day, she managed to find amid the chaos, a special calling. Life was preparing her for what was to come next.

How long it may take someone to find their purpose in life is unknown. It could be days, weeks, months, or even years. However, the experiences that we face in life can act as a crash course on what we will dedicate our days to at some point.
