From a borderline experience to discovering her calling, The Ward Law’s advocacy for immigrant communities generates the admiration of the NY Daily News web portal.

October 2, 2023 | Jany Martinez Ward
From a borderline experience to discovering her calling, The Ward Law’s advocacy for immigrant communities generates the admiration of the NY Daily News web portal.

Once again, The Ward Law Group attracts the attention of important web portals such as the NY Daily News, which highlights the achievements and values of the firm, the work of the firm's professionals, such as our senior attorney Jany Martinez Ward in the defense of immigrant communities since she discovered her vocation in an endless journey that began in his native Cuba years ago.

In a world where the promised land still exists in the minds and hearts of many, hundreds of people leave behind everything they know, often stories of pain and injustice, for a dream of a new beginning. The dream and desire to access a better life with greater freedom, without tyrannical rulers or false illusions, and with faith to provide for their families that were left behind.

That journey across the continent continues to exist and with even greater force after the pandemic in the 21st century. In the last two years, a new wave of immigrants has revived the idea of the American dream and has embarked on a humanitarian quest at many of the country's border points.

But these new immigrants have not been the first. The history of the United States of America as we know it today is a story of people arriving in boats on some of its shores, from the post-war waves of immigrants to the humanitarian crisis at the border. Times have changed, but the desire to survive and overcome difficulties still exists. Many lives are lost along the way, but others, through resilience, find a new opportunity to rebuild.

In a world that needs lights of knowledge to guide hundreds of displaced people, Ms. Martinez Ward fulfills her work. After going through this journey at only 14 years of age, going through uncertainty, temporary confinement for her family, forced adaptation to a new culture, and with many days of not knowing what was going to happen the next day, she managed to find amid the chaos, a special calling. Life was preparing her for what was to come next.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." - Romans 8:28 (NIV). How long it may take someone to find their purpose in life is unknown. It could be days, weeks, months, or even years. However, the experiences that we face in life can act as a crash course on what we will dedicate our days to at some point.

These very human and difficult experiences paved the way for New York City to gain a law firm that works sincerely and with well-defined values for its community.

The Ward Law Group has found over time, in the personal history of its founders, a source of experiences that allow them today to convey a message of companionship to those who are unprotected by the system. It is an opportunity for those who have left everything behind to find a chance to adapt to a new environment and, gradually, the human treatment they deserve, and to lighten the burden of leaving your culture in an almost forced way to start from scratch in a new society.

With the opening of the new office in New York, new opportunities open to reach more people, and the message of recognition and access to your rights regardless of your origin or language continues to prevail in major cities.
