Attorney Gregory Ward is the Founder and Managing Partner of the Ward Law Group, one of Florida’s largest and fastest-growing car accident law firms. Ward is an experienced courtroom lawyer and negotiator. He fights tirelessly to make sure car accident victims in Florida receive the compensation they deserve for their physical injuries and financial losses. To date, the Ward Law Group has helped car accident victims recover nearly $500 million in settlements.
After 10 years of working mostly for the defense, in 2012 Ward founded The Ward Law Group, PL, with his partner and wife, Jany Martinez-Ward. The Ward Law Group, PL, focuses on serving the Hispanic community across the country, bringing quality legal service to a community that is often underserved.
During the past decade, Ward has helped Spanish-speaking car accident victims and their families obtain assistance with complex and intimidating legal issues. In the last eight years, he has successfully led the Ward Law Group to an annual growth rate of 40%-50% and has achieved 19 settlements totaling over 1 million. A notable accomplishment of the firm was a confidential settlement in excess of $100 million, one of the nation's largest settlements of its kind.
Ward’s achievements and business ingenuity have earned him a great number of honors and recognitions. Ward has received awards from the National Trial Lawyers, the South Florida Legal Guide, Florida Trend Magazine, Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, and Golden Gavel awards among many others. Ward is a frequent guest speaker on news programs, at conferences and on podcasts nationally. Additionally, he has been invited by the Florida Bar Association to contribute a chapter to the 10th edition of Florida Civil Practice Before Trial entitled "Practice and Procedure in the Handling of Automobile Cases.".
The Ward Law Group, PL, distinguishes itself from other firms by providing clients with services tailored to their specific needs as Spanish speakers. Ward believes that clients deserve lawyers who speak their language and understand their stories. Ward also believes that everyone is entitled to the same measure of justice, no matter where someone was born. To this end, Ward ensures that his staff is trained to understand the challenges and needs of every client so they will receive what they are entitled to, especially exceptional service.
“It is rare to find a personal injury law firm where over 97% of our client-facing staff speak Spanish. Our firm has been able to fill a void. It has truly been a blessing to be able to serve the Hispanic community and provide the legal representation that they need” – Ward adds.
Ward used to work for insurance companies and has a deep understanding of how insurance businesses operate. He also knows the issues that can determine the ultimate success or failure of a case. This experience has given the Ward Law Group an edge in helping Spanish-speaking victims of car accidents who have suffered injuries and emotional trauma because of the wrongful actions of others. “Insurance companies make money collecting premiums, not paying claims. So, there is a natural inclination for insurance companies to want to reduce their payouts. This can result in a profit over people’s mindset. At the Ward Law Group, we stand against that. I stand against that.” Ward explains.
Ward attributes much of his success to the struggles he and his wife have overcome. “When we started in 2012, it was just the two of us with a foldout table and a laptop…” Ward reminisced. “We were crammed into a small interior office. We basically had very limited money, very limited equipment, and very limited staff.” Driven to overcome their struggles, the firm has grown from two employees to over 140 employees worldwide, including 50 employees in India, the Philippines, Ecuador, and Nicaragua. In Ward’s words, “We’re just getting started.” The firm has charted a course of growth in the coming decade to expand into the Northeast, Southwest, and Texas. “Wherever Spanish speakers need a lawyer who speaks their language… we will be there,” Ward says.”
