Safety vs. Color

There are many myths and somewhat instinctive affirmations in regards to the relationship between car color and car accident trends. In fact, multiple universities have conducted studies about this relationship. The studies concluded that before seeing any color, people have an innate reflex of an approaching vehicle.

Another intriguing study result showed that the color that appeared safest and lowest in accident rate is silver rather than white, as many people thought. In relation to dark colors, including black which is known to absorb a lot of heat, has a higher accident rate. It is for this reason that experts recommend to have the lights on (both day and night) which helps to improve visibility.

The color of a vehicle does not increase the price of car insurance. Choosing the color of a car should be an enjoyable experience without fear of having to pay a premium.

Of course, in the event of an accident, The Ward Law Group is available to help and answer any questions.
